This week (16-22 May) marks the Australian Boarding Schools Association (ABSA) National Boarding Week, a time to celebrate the fantastic efforts and commitment from The King’s School’s boarders and boarding staff.
As one of Australia’s oldest and largest boarding schools, The King’s School joins ABSA in the celebration for the almost 200 non-government boarding schools who provide world-class educational opportunities for any student, regardless of where they call home.
The week is aimed at raising awareness about the many benefits of boarding schools and celebrating the important part our boarding community plays in the fabric of the School and wider community.
Founded in 1831, King’s is Australia’s oldest independent school with a unique understanding of what makes boarding a successful and enjoyable experience.
Boarding is the heart of The King’s School experience. Here, over 360 boarders enjoy a wonderful opportunity to live and learn on campus, develop independence and resilience, and form lifelong friendships, while living together in a diverse and inclusive community.
While boarders do sometimes face challenges living away from home, they are proud to be King’s boarders who enjoy the camaraderie and support of their home away from home.
National Boarding Week is a great opportunity for King’s boarders to say thank you to the vast networks of support that ensure a positive experience during their boarding journey.
The King’s School’s participation in this Australia-wide event provides a glimpse into the daily life of a King’s boarding student.
To celebrate National Boarding Week, we look forward to sharing with you some exciting boarding news and the special events we have scheduled through the week.
