Following a great start to the co-curricular and sporting space this term, it was wonderful to see The King’s School in full force on Saturday, as sporting games were played at home in front of all students from our Preparatory and Senior School campuses. The community spirit of the many families and friends who turned out to watch on the hills and in the stands was felt in abundance.
There was a huge amount of enjoyment given to senior players and received by the whole School when participating in the cheering and war cries, and we thank you for your support of the School Monitors and the students representing our competition teams. We also wish to thank our parents and volunteers who lent a helping hand on the day, including our Snowsports Parent Supporter Group and Baker Hake parent community.
Overall, it was a very successful day for King’s, with our 1st XI winning 5-1 against Sydney Boys High School. Our Volleyball team also put up a valiant fight against Sydney Boys, however, lost their match 0-3. To commemorate Reconciliation Week, our 1st XV wore jerseys designed by Indigenous Old Boys Dylan Pietsch (‘16) and Jordan Williams (’18) as they played against The Scots College, winning 58-26.
All boys have shown exceptional dedication in their respective areas of involvement throughout Term 2, and we eagerly anticipate continued success across all of our teams as we head into the second half of winter sport in the AAGPS competition. We hope to see you at our upcoming Supporter Saturdays on 22 July and Back to King’s on 12 August.
