In an impressive 12 hour creative writing session, students from Years 7 to 11 participated in Write a book in a Day, an annual event held in the Senior School library. Each team worked together to produce an engaging story, using key words provided under the pressure of a limited time frame.
As part of this process, the boys worked together to create a collaborative creative writing piece, that will be read by children at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead, providing a real-world audience for their books.
Students enjoyed the opportunity to develop their literacy and teamwork skills, whilst also giving back to the community. The day has been a resounding success, with funds raised for The Kid’s Cancer Project, which supports medical researchers and goes towards vital research into childhood cancer.
